Sean Penn entered the Zinc Lounge at the Shade hotel in Manhattan Beach last Thursday around 11 p.m., according to eonline.com.
The two-time Academy Award winner was enjoying a drink with a lady friend. Meanwhile a drunk reveler began verbally abusing a bartender.
“This guy was drunk and yelling at the bartender,” an eyewitness told E! “He wasn’t making much sense, but he was loud and just kept screaming.”
“Sean came over to the bar and said, ‘Is everything OK over here?'” the source said. “The guy was a smart aleck and said to Sean, ‘Stay out of it, Sparky!'”, according to eonline.
The patron left immediately after his run in with Penn.
