NATURE WALK
Guided Nature Walk by Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy to Butcher Hill in Rolling Hills Estates. Follow the trail to the top of this prominent hill marking the entrance to the Peninsula while taking in breathtaking views of the Los Angeles Basin. Return through the secluded Valmonte Canyon Trail. It is a moderate walk that begins at 3 p.m. Use parking area in Ernie Howlett Park, 25851 Hawthorne Blvd. between Palos Verdes Drive North and Rolling Hills Road. Free and open to the public. HEALTH INSURANCE ASSISTANCE
In preparation for Covered California’s open enrollment period, Beach Cities Health District is offering public workshops and one-on-one consultations to assist locals with insurance sign up.
“Most of our Covered California counseling sessions are completed in 30 minutes,” said Dr. Santora. “We require people to make an appointment ahead of time and to bring in necessary information, which has made the process seamless for our staff and local residents. And that’s really the goal – to give people the help they need in a timely manner.”
In addition to enrollment assistance, BCHD will be hosting a series of Covered California informational workshops to give people a more comprehensive understanding of the health insurance exchange. These workshops are free to the public and will be held in Beach Cities Health District’s lower level at 6 p.m. on November, ten – five days before the open enrollment period begins in California.
