A long-interval, northwest swell signaled the start of the South Bay winter season on Tuesday. El Segundo native Tyler Hatizikian proved he is still the dominator at Hammerland,, but former Mira Costa team rider Chad Parker gave a challenging performance. Offshore winds and clear skies created ideal conditions for both surfers and photographers.
