It’s a piecemeal word, “Assemblagism,” just like the many works in this nicely curated show of assemblage art, a melding of often unrelated objects, the result being something in most cases highly imaginative. The show is up through Oct. 22 (with a First Thursday Art Walk open house from 6 to 9 p.m. on Oct. 5), and it features some of the finest artists in the known universe. You know who I’m talking about: Michael Chomick, Patty Grau, Emelda Gutierrez, Won Sil Kim, Charity Malin, Doug Pearsall, Leah Shirejian, Jean Shultz, Peggy Jo Sivert, John Sollom, Barbara St. John, Diane Stovall, Wendy Viscarra, Sandy Brown Wyeth, and Ben Zask. Loft Studios and Gallery, 401 Mesa St, San Pedro.
