The historic La Venta Inn has reopened, after closing in March 2020 because of the pandemic. Made by Megan and executive chef Meg Walker is the new lessee and operator of the historic estate. Mark Matthews, one of the owners of La Venta and his daughter, were present at the ribbon cutting hosted in part by the Palos Verdes Chamber of Commerce, represented by CEO Eileen Hupp. The property’s interior enhancements, by local designer Dannielle Albrecht, respect the property’s long history. Matthews said in the early days of La Venta, his grandmother welcomed passerbyers in for coffee and tea. He says community outreach will play an increasing role in La Venta’s future.
