The Cancer Support Community (CSCRB) hosted the 23rd annual Celebrate Wellness food and beverage tasting event at the South Coast Botanic Garden. More than 500 guests enjoyed sunshine and music as they sampled fare from over 30 restaurants, wineries and breweries. The event generated record breaking proceeds, which will help fund 270 free support programs each month for cancer patients and their families. Redondo Beach Mayor Bill Brand, who was recently diagnosed with lung cancer expressed his appreciation for the program. “I marched right down to CSCRB and they are bigger, stronger and more available for everybody than I could ever have imagined,” said Brand. “I feel so honored to be the mayor of the city that houses the Cancer Support Community.”
