Spotlight on seniors: Cinco de Mayo Equals Fiesta at Peninsula Seniors

Peninsula Seniors Peninsula Seniors Dos de Mayo Taco Fiesta Peninsula Seniors hosted their signature event, a Dos de Mayo Taco Party Luncheon on Thursday, May 2, at the Scriba Family Center in Rolling Hills Estates. Over 80 attendees enjoyed a colorful Mexican fiesta catered by the Original Red Onion and owner Jeff Earl. A Peaceful Way Home Care was the event’s sponsor. This annual party is a social highlight of the year, and one of many Peninsula Seniors’ unique events bringing members and future members together in friendship to “Make Life Fun” as the motto suggests. “Peninsula Seniors is the premier senior social organization in the South Bay,” says Renee Reymond, Programs Coordinator. Cinco de Mayo is a significant holiday that celebrates the date of the Mexican army’s May 5, 1862 victory over France, at the Battle of Puebla during the Franco-Mexican War. It’s become a day in the U.S. to celebrate Mexican culture and heritage.
