Spotlight on the hill – Ginsburgs donate $10 million to USC

Retired Palos Verdes ophthalmologist, Allen Ginsburg MD and his wife Charlotte made a groundbreaking donation of $10 million to fund a multidisciplinary research program to treat blindness and other neurosensory disorders at USC. Following an exhaustive review of the work being done throughout the country, the Ginsburgs hand selected this institution to support their cutting-edge research. Currently being led by Dr. Mark Humayun, this specialized field combines chemistry, electronics, bioengineering pharmacology and neuroscience to foster innovation in regenerating sight for the blind.
