Spotlight on the hill – Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy

Linen draped tables, accented with the vibrant colors of nature, inspired by fare of prickly pear cactus, squash blossoms, sage and dragonfruit, reflections of a pink hued sunset with a background of dramatic coastal cliffs and a turquoise ocean-this is what welcomed guests to the PVP Land Conservancy Pastoral dinner at Terranea’s resort on October 14. Opening remarks were made by resort president Terri Haack, who joked how she was in charge of the splendid weather. Executive Chef Ibarra discussed the native Palos Verdes menu, which included grilled Swordfish a la parrilla en Mole Verde, seared Mary’s free range chicken thighs en Mole Negro, roasted corn tamales, and tomato tortilla soup. The group celebrated 30 years of accomplishments and concluded with a toast by Board of Directors President, Allen Franz and Conservancy co-founder, Bill Ailor.
