The beach closure has slowed surfboard sales. But the streets are still open for skaters. So Spyder Surf has focused its sales effort on skateboards. Over the past three Saturdays, Spyder has offered curbside delivery of custom skateboards, assembled in its parking lot, after the mostly young skaters pick out a deck, trucks and wheels. For boards ordered online, Spyder offers delivery.

“We need to support our local surf and skate shops,” said South Bay native Peter Williams as he pick out a hat.” Skater AJ Quirog, of Manhattan Beach, chose a pink deck for the custom board he ordered. He planned to ship it to his niece in Texas, but not before giving it a test ride around the Spyder parking lot. ER
