The 37th Annual Riviera Village Summer Festival takes takes place Saturday, June 27 and Sunday, June 28 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. The free, family-friendly festival will feature more than 300 arts and crafts booths, a wide selection of grubs at the International Food Court and carnival rides for kids and adults who may feel inclined. Local acts will perform on the community stage. Thirsty folks can sip on a drink at the beer garden, where Playa Del Rey-based reggae band Urban Dread will jam all weekend, beginning at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday and 1:30 p.m. on Sunday. Country rock trio Feed the Kitty will play Saturday afternoon, followed by tribute band Skynyrd Reloaded. Almost Famous, a band from Virginia Beach, will close out the festival at 4:30 p.m. on Sunday.
Skip the drive and ride your bike down. There will be a bike corral valet service on Catalina & Ave I, courtesy of the Beach Cities Cycling Club. A free shuttle service is available from South High and West High.
