Figures tell the tale of NBC-TV’s exhaustive preparations to bring the 46th Super Bowl to some 100 million viewers.

116 — Microphones, including 12 on-field super-sensitive parabolic mics, which can be made to pick up sounds miles away.

Includes, for the game, 20 “hard” cameras, nine handheld (three on robotic arms), one “steady cam” whose operator can go onto the field during timeout, four ultra slow-motion cameras, and one airplane shooting high definition aerial shots.
