Tangled up in blue with Manhattan Denim

Tangled up in Blue

Tangled up in BlueFor the majority of his life, volleyball player Jon Mesko was able to capitalize on his ample height. But he faced a constant struggle when trying to find men’s denim with adequate leg length. To the benefit of South Bay residents, Mesko, along with wife Tiffany, channeled this frustration into opening a denim boutique designed to ease that often arduous task of finding the perfect pair of jeans.
Manhattan Denim opened three years ago with the goal of bringing a fresh, local face to denim shopping.

“Jon and Tiffany wanted the shop to be a place where people could come without having to go to the mall to find a great pair of jeans” said Manhatten Denim manager and buyer Dawn Dafgek.  “They started off just selling denim and T-shirts, but now the store has everything, so it is more of a local one stop shop.”

So what can South Bay shoppers expect to see from this new season’s denim trends?

“The biggest trends for spring denim will be flared and bell-bottomed jeans” explains Dafgek.  “Waists are coming up as well, so you won’t see as many lower rises. You can still get your skinny, straight-legged and boot cuts here though, and we of course have the ripped, vintage look. At this point, anything goes!”

Manhattan Denim is located at 920 Manhattan Avenue, Manhattan Beach. For more information at manhattandenim.com. B
