Festival of the Kite makes high-flying return

Photos by Garth MeyerThe 48th-annual Festival of the Kite drew a crowd to the Redondo Beach Pier area last Sunday, March 13, 2022 with winners as follows: Highest-Flying Kite went to Russell Finch of Hawthorne; Rogelio Mendoza of Los Angeles had the Longest-Flying Kite; Youngest at Heart-Kite Flyer was Bill Culp of Thousand Oaks and Youngest Kite Flyer was Brittany Ortiz of Venice Beach. No award was given this year for Handmade Kite.
