The keg hunt. Get it? Say it out loud. It sounds like egg hunt, right? And it happens on the Saturday before Easter. It only took me . . . well, way longer than it should have to make the connection. Saturday April 7 is the 5th annual keg hunt in El Segundo.  Eight bars are on board this year, with the addition of recently re-opened Rock & Brews. John Mccullough is the proud organizer/founder/creator of this adult event. More than just a pub crawl. Check thekeghunt.com for details and costume ideas.

Game Changers is jumping into the dayclub mix with its version of Dj-Sunday-Beach-Day called “Hermosa Beach Club.”  Hopefully our weather will cooperate for their April line-up.  April 8th is Ladies Day Out featuring Mia Guzman and DJ Bella Fiasco of MTV fame. Sundays 1pm – 6pm.

Sangria will soon become American Junkie, which hails from Scottsdale, Arizona. Their tagline is “cold drinks, good eats.” Online menu has piqued my curiosity with the Grilled PB & J sandwich. Get this! You can add bacon for a buck. Wonder if they’re still gonna have dancing . . . . Hope so. They have to right?! We’ll find out together.

Do you enjoy dancing, but also like to hear yourself talk? And by talk I mean get hit on. Head to Sidedoor in MB. Or just have a seat and watch cute guys hit on ugly girls and wonder what the hell? Look for DJ Tony G, aka Tony Gadachy on Friday nights. Pleasant and different. Familiar songs with a subtle twist making them better, not weird. Not your typical dj. That’s a compliment.

Driven by Hermosa Saloon lately? Well they have a new sign, new façade, and new saloon doors. Come down and let’s break them in.

Delicious Discovery: Simmzy’s Save the Farm” Grilled Cheese sandwich. You’ll spend every bite wondering what makes it so damned good! Get it now, because it’s seasonal. Lucky you if hostess Kelsay Page is working when you visit. Need to get your Simmz fix outside of the bubble? Belmont Shores (the fancy part of Long Beach) is site of the newest location opening on April 19. Way to branch out boys.  Plans are firming up for a Venice location as well. Look for that next year.

My Favorite Thing Week #10: Bourbon County Heavyweight stout and homemade bourbon ice cream at Simmzy’s. A root beer float for adults. It gets better with every bite!

Bartender of the Week: Lauren & Lisa Cassity at Barnacles. Those blonde twins you love to love can be seen working together on Friday nights. They call that “(t)winning.”  Not sure if they’re best described as cute or hot. Now that’s a problem we love to have. Doesn’t matter. They’re nice. And they smile. . . . genuinely. For some reason that’s hard for some pretty girls. Their unusual niceness has landed them this week’s win. Lauren makes a great Bloody Mary. Lisa is known for her really strong cocktails. Homework assignment: go figure out who’s who.
