Three best Netflix shows to watch in 2021

There are countless avenues of fun and entertainment on the internet. YouTube is full of short & entertaining video clips while there is also no dearth of engaging content on Facebook and Twitter. However, nothing beats Netflix for an immersive experience, not even the most popular online casino game. 

Below we have listed the three best television series that provides the best value for one’s time and attention.  

1- The Witcher 

If you are looking for a new and fascinating experience from a season, then you cannot do better than The Witcher, the fantasy drama show that is based on the book series of the same name by Polish writer Andrzej Sapkowski. 

It follows the life of a professional monster hunter called Geralt of Rivia who is trying to find his place in a cruel world where poverty is rampant and people are more wicked than beasts. There is Yennefer of Vengerberg who is a powerful sorceress and one of Geralt’s lovers. While Princess Cirilla is the main heroine of the series who is on the run after the sacking of her city and who may have some great mysterious power. The destinies of these three main characters seem different but they slowly intertwine as the show proceeds. 

The Witcher stars Henry Cavill, Freya Allan, and Anya Chalotra in the main role and it was first released in December 2019. Like the book series, the show also won over the hearts of fans who praised the powerful performances and the brilliant execution. The Witcher also went on to be nominated for several awards, including Best Cinematography at the British Society of Cinematographers and Best Science Fiction at the Dragon Awards.  

2- Breaking Bad 

Many critics rate Breaking Bad as one of the greatest television series of all time. The brilliance of the show is that its creators have made it very gripping while also keeping it realistic and believable. At no point will one get bored as they follow the journey of an underpaid and dispirited chemistry teacher who turns to a life of crime for securing the financial future of his family. 

3- The Queen’s Gambit 

For enjoying The Queen’s Gambit, it is not necessary for one to know all the rules and understand all the intricacies of chess. Just like one’s know-how about best strikers in Premier League history is no hindrance to one’s appreciation of the movie Goal!, similarly anyone can watch The Queen’s Gambit that explores several interesting themes by following the life of a young orphan obsessed with this abstract strategy game. 

Anya Taylor-Joy has been featured in the main role as Beth Harmon who is immensely gifted but is having to fight her own inner demons. Even for a genius, achieving sporting glory is no easy feat and Beth discovers that along the way. In her journey, she is helped by many interesting characters, including Mr. Shaibel (Bill Camp), Harry Beltik (Harry Melling), and Benny Watts (Thomas Brodie-Sangster). 

Scott Frank, the writer & director of the show, has done an exceptional job in creating all the details and making all the scenes very vivid and powerful. This is especially true about how he has captured the chess matches that are really gripping and engaging. 

Within a short time of its release, the Scott Frank directed show became Netflix’s most-watched scripted miniseries. It was also very well received by the critics, who showered praise on the powerful performance of Taylor-Joy and the cinematography. The series also went on to win two Golden Globe Awards.
