The 16th Street, Hermosa Beach volleyball courts were the site of an exhibition match last Thursday, July 18, between beach volleyball 2020 Olympic gold medalists Alix Klineman and April Ross, and beach volleyball 2024 Olympic gold medalist hopefuls Sarah Hughes and Kelly Cheng.“The matches were a way for Sarah and Kelly to get in some last minute,competitive training before leaving for Paris on Saturday,” said Mark Paaluhi, who organized the match.
The gathering of just a few dozen friends and volleyball players ended with a send-off party for Hughes and Cheng.
The two live in Hermosa Beach and have been training at the 16th Street courts. Klineman and Ross live in Manhattan Beach. The two gold medalists each recently had children. ER
