Women’s Club Donation

The Woman’s Club of Hermosa Beach presented a check for $22,300 to Walk With Sally at a banquet earlier this month.
The money was raised at the 10th Annual Adrienne’s Search for Children’s Cure fundraiser on March 5. Walk With Sally is an El Segundo-based charity that comforts children suffering from the emotional harm of living with or losing someone to cancer.
Fiesta Hermosa
The 44th annual Memorial Day Fiesta Hermosa will take place this weekend in downtown Hermosa.
The event will take place from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. May 28-30, and is Southern California’s largest arts and crafts festival. More than 300 vendors will set up shop in stands placed on Hermosa Avenue and lower Pier Avenue, including painters, photographers, sculptors and jewelers, according to a news release from the Hermosa Beach Chamber of Commerce and Visitor’s Bureau.
In addition to the vendors, Fiesta Hermosa will also feature a kid carnival, three stages of music, and a large food court, the release said. New to the festival this year is a “Fiesta Siesta” zone, a shaded area where parents and young children can take breaks from the fiesta. And the Charity Beer and Wine Garden will raise money for a variety of civic groups.
An estimated 100,000 people will stream into the downtown area over the weekend, the release said. Locals are encouraged to walk or bike to the area; a free bicycle valet lot, staffed by Hermosa Cyclery, will be available. Free shuttle buses running to and from the fiesta will originate at the Northrop Grumman parking lot on the corner of Marine Avenue and Aviation Boulevard in Redondo Beach.
