South Bay Business Leaders Summit
Tickets are now on sale for South Bay’s elite business conference hosted by the Manhattan Beach Chamber of Commerce. Formerly known as the Women in Business Conference, the revamped event will be held on April 25 from 8 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Manhattan Beach Marriott. The summit will include breakout sessions, networking opportunities as well as four panels, including “The Digital Influencer: Explode Your Social Media Footprint” and “Secrets of Success: From Start Up to Staying Power.” Confirmed speakers include Gwynne Shotwell, the COO of SpaceX, Jamie Gutfreund of CAA’s The Intelligence Group, radio host Kristen Cruz of KOST 103.5 and Bob Schwarts of 47 B Street. Tickets are $125, available at manhattanbeachchamber.com. The event is expected to sell out.
Walk with Sally’s Bowl-A-Prom
Walk with Sally’s seventh annual Bowl-A-Prom takes place Saturday from noon to 4 p.m. at the El Dorado Lanes in Westchester. The event includes a costume contest, food and drinks and a prom photo booth. Walk with Sally is a nonprofit dedicated to providing mentoring support programs and services to children of parents or siblings with cancer. MCHS Festival Concert
On Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m., the Mira Costa Concert Ensemble will hold its annual Festival Concert in the Mira Costa High School auditorium. This event precedes the Ensemble’s Festival Adjudication at Santa Monica High School on Wednesday.
MCHS Dessert Theatre
Mira Costa High School’s drama department is hosting its annual Dessert Theatre Thursday at 7 p.m. at O’Donnell Hall at American Martyrs Church. The event will include preview performances of this year’s Fullerton Drama Festival entries: 10-minute scenes of the department’s spring musical “Peter Pan” and the student-directed entry Cabaret, along with monologues, ensemble performances and Improv Games. Entry is $5 at the door. Coffee, water and dessert is provided.
