Round the Campfire Gala

Two Manhattan Beach educators and their family will be honored at a gala this Saturday in Anaheim for their longstanding volunteerism at Camp Conrad Chinnock, a Southern California-based diabetes educational camp for children and their families. Rocky Wilson, a Mira Costa counselor, and Debbie, a Manhattan Beach Middle School teacher, volunteers with their family every summer to the camp based in Big Bear. The gala is from 5 p.m. to midnight at the Disneyland Grand Californian Resort and Spa. Tickets are available at roundthecampfire.org.

Drug disposal

The Manhattan Beach Police Department is teaming up with the Drug Enforcement Administration for the seventh time in three years to accept from the public expired, unused and unwanted prescription drugs. The service this Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at MBPD, located at 420 15th St., is anonymous.

Free flu vaccination

The Los Angeles County Department of Health is sponsoring a free flu vaccination clinic next Thursday from 1 to 4 p.m. in the Manhattan Beach Unified School District’s board room, located at 325 South Peck Ave. in Manhattan Beach. The event is open to all members of the public.
