The customers have morphed over time from shopping for their everyday wardrobe to hitting the store for Halloween and theme parties, without Aaardvark missing a retro beat.
“There’s a ‘70s or ‘80s party every weekend,” said co-owner Jon McCormack.
In addition, schoolchildren increasingly dress in period clothing to present reports to classmates, and Aaardvark has quickly become a parent’s best friend for that activity as well.
Trend-wise, customers have been poking around lately for dresses in the style of those worn by pinup icon Bettie Page, which Aaardvark’s carries from a modern maker.
