With her eye on winning an unprecedented fourth Olympic gold medal at the 2020 games in Tokyo, Kerri Walsh Jennings’ activity on the sand court has exceeded her own personal training.

Along with her husband Casey Jennings, Kerri has created the p1440 event series which wraps up its inaugural season Thursday through Sunday in Huntington Beach.

Named to encourage people to live every minute of the day with purpose – all 1,440 of them – p1440 features a professional beach volleyball tournament, personal development experiences, live music performances and a Health & Wellness Village.

“I can’t believe it’s already our last event of 2018. What the p1440 team has been able to accomplish this year has been truly incredible and I’m looking forward to ending our first year in the amazing Huntington Beach community, where I first fell in love with the sport and launched my career on the sand,” Walsh Jennings said.

“We are doing something extremely special for our last event. We are hosting two tournaments at the same time — the Young Guns Invitational (men’s and women’s 24-team main draw) is primarily focused on giving the ‘younger’ players a very high-level opportunity to compete. The Top Guns Invitational will be a 16 person draw. There will be three rounds of pool play and a final match that will crown the champion,” Walsh Jennings said.

“This format is super exciting. It’ll be fun to see the different matchups and to see which players rise to the challenge of playing with multiple partners and personalities,” she said.

In addition to the two beach volleyball tournaments, p1440 Huntington Beach will also feature daily yoga and meditation sessions; workouts with Olympic trainers; immersive art; inspirational discussions with industry sport leaders like the founder of Hurley International, Bob Hurley, WWE three-time champion Eve Torres Gracie and UFC star Michelle Waterson, cooking demos, music from local DJs, gourmet food options and family-friendly activities.

“I’m also so proud and excited about all the lifestyle and health and wellness experiences we’ve set up for our attendees of all ages and families to enjoy,” Walsh Jennings said. “Our Health & Wellness Village is packed with inspiration and experts in the wellness field, and we have special guests nearly every day sharing their stories with us. We want everyone to leave our events feeling inspired and fueled with new knowledge that they’ve gained from their weekend with us.”

Guests will also be able to fine tune their volleyball skills at the AcuSpike individual trainer or at one of the volleyball clinics led by p1440’s coaching staff. After working out at the Movement Shop sponsored by Älsa Energy or playing some volleyball, attendees can relax and rejuvenate in the Recovery Lounge with Normatec compression systems and chairs, Hyperice modalities and other experiences.

Admission to the event is free and attendees are encouraged to RSVP on Eventbrite.com. Also available are VIP tickets which include a center court VIP bleachers section, complimentary beer and wine, catered food and refreshments. Single day VIP tickets are $100 and a three-day package is $200. For more information, visit p1440.com.
