William C. (Bill) Barks, long time resident of Manhattan Beach, born on April 23, 1937 passed away on May 23, 2018 at the age of 81. Bill was born in Detroit and grew up in Santa Monica. He graduated from Santa Monica High School and UCLA, after a stint in the Marines, and worked in aerospace most of his life. He retired from TRW (now Northrop Grumman) after 25 years. He spent his retirement traveling, playing tennis, and enjoying his children and grandchildren. He also worked part-time during retirement, first as an airport greeter, then as a teacher in the South Bay and Torrance Adult Schools, teaching English as a Second Language. He is survived by his children Chris (J. Hudson) Cameron of San Pedro and Peter (Connie) Barks of Manhattan Beach, brother David Barks (Veretta) of Manhattan Brach and sister Isabelle Barks of San Diego. Younger brother Gilbert  Barks (Thea) preceded him in death in 1992. His beloved grandchildren Dana, Riley, Grace, Trenten, and Adam were a constant delight and enriched his later life. In accordance with his wishes, no services are planned. His family will miss him like crazy.
