The Wednesday night 2/22 winds caused a tree to crack and fall on the 1100 block of Laurel Avenue in Manhattan Beach

The strong winds of Wednesday night, February 22 caused a huge tree in Manhattan Beach’s Tree Section to crack and fall over portions of an apartment building and parked truck.

The tree lives on the backside of the Pacific Lanai apartment building, at 777 Pacific, and the accident occurred on the 1100 block of Laurel. Tree crews were out early Wednesday cleaning up the mess.

A parked Ford F-150 truck was hit by a falling tree in the early hours Wednesday morning in Manhattan Beach

The damage to the Ford F-150 truck looked to be body damage related to the fender.

Laurel Avenue, just off Manhattan Beach Blvd., was cut off to traffic early Wednesday as crews looked to clean up the damage.
