A woman was sexually assaulted in front of a companion on the beach below 34th Street in Manhattan Beach early Sunday morning.
The couple, in their 40s, was sitting on the sand when a man approached around 12:16 a.m. He pretended to have a gun and forced the man to lay face down in the sand while he assaulted the woman. He then robbed the couple and fled on foot, heading south.
An area search was made for the suspect, but he was not located. Manhattan Beach Detectives were notified and will be handling the investigation.Â
Update: MBPD has released the following description of the suspect:
The suspect is described as a male Hispanic adult, 5’7″, thin build, with a bald head and thin mustache. He was wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans.
