Four members of the Surfside 17 Legends volleyball team from Manhattan Beach have been invited to the 14th Annual European Global Challenge Volleyball Tournament July 5 – 15 under the guidance of head coach CJ Sherman. From left, seniors Jaida Hodge-Adams (Harvard Westlake), Malea Stanton (Mira Costa), Madeline Cardenas (Bishop Montgomery), and junior Abrielle Bross (Halstrom Academy) will represent the USA BIP-SE U17 team and travel from Philadelphia, PA to Munich, Germany, continuing on to Austria, Italy, Slovenia ending up in Pula, Croatia where they will compete in a 4-day tournament against teams from across the globe. Swimming: The inaugural Redondo Beach Open Water Swim will take place at 8 a.m. on Sunday, July 15 at Miramar Park, 201 Paseo De La Playa. 1-mile ($40) and 1/2-mile ($30) swims (add $10 after June 30).
