Barfly: Pink 100 charity event to raise cancer awareness

Charity Event: The Second Annual Pink 100 charity event to raise cancer awareness will take place at Spectrum Club, North Harbor Drive, RB next Tuesday-Saturday, October 25-29. Sponsored by Cancer Support Community Redondo Beach, (formerly The Wellness Group), and partnered with The Dumbbell Man Fitness Equipment of Torrance, this event gets you a great workout while you help support a cause that effects us all. I can’t name a single person I know who doesn’t have someone they love afflicted by this disease. Running from Tuesday-Friday, 7 a.m. – 7 p.m. and Saturday 11a.m. – 1 p.m, (I love how they give us a break the day after par-tay Fri-day). Participants will pledge a flat $100 entry fee to work out on The Dumbbell Man Fitness donated Cybex Pink Arc Cross Trainers, (whose president, Michael Garvey is a cancer survivor himself), for one full hour, the goal being to raise $10,000 in the 100 hours. Sketchers will also be donating a free pair of shoes, (retail value up to $100), to each participant – that makes it really hard to be lazy and say, “No,” now doesn’t it? The after-party will take place at Spectrum, RB with catering provided by Waterman’s Grill, HB, Saturday, October 24, 1-4 p.m. to celebrate the close of the 100th hour. To register for The Pink 100 or for more info call (310).376.3550 or log on to cancersupportredondobeach.org…
