Beach charity – Police Unity Tour

King Harbor Yacht Club hosted a fundraiser on February 6 for the Redondo Beach Police Unity Tour team. In May, eight bicyclist, accompanied by four motorcycle officers and a support truck representing the Redondo Police will bicycle 300 miles from New Brunswick, New Jersey to Washington D.C. The purpose of the tour is to raise awareness about law enforcement officers who have died in the line of duty and to raise funds for the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial and Museum in Washington D.C. Last year, 2,600 officers and supporters nationwide raised  $2.7 million dollars for the police memorial, the only national memorial in Washington D.C. that is privately, not federally supported.
