Beach Cities on the same page
During the month of April, the Redondo Beach, Manhattan Beach and Hermosa Beach public libraries invite the community to participate in a Beach Cities Read with a Book-to-Action series featuring the book Plastic Ocean: How a Sea Captain’s Chance Discovery Launched a Determined Quest to Save the Oceans by Captain Charles Moore.
Moore will be speaking at the Manhattan Beach library, 1320 Highland Avenue, on Apr. 18 from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
On Apr. 23, the city of Manhattan Beach and the Surfrider Foundation will hold an Earth Day Beach Cleanup south of the Manhattan Beach Pier from 10 a.m. to noon.
