The 19th annual Smackfest Volleyball Tournament, billing itself as the best coed 4’s tournament in the country, was held Saturday in Hermosa Beach. The event benefited So Cal Foundation for Children (SCFC) which raises funds for scholarships, education, guidance and athletic opportunity to underprivileged youth.
The winners of the first-ever Bud Light Pro 4’s division was Team VB Superstore (Mike Lambert, Casey Patterson, Brittany Hochevar, Paul Baxter and Brandon Taliefero), who won with a dramatic six point comeback over Team Bud Light (Albert Hanneman, Andrei Belov, Matt Fuerbringer, Adam Roberts and Brooke Sweat) and thus earned $5,000.
General division victor’s wereTeam Neon (Will Jacoby, Matt Biernat, Mariko Coverdale, Chelsea Hayes, Tony Ray and Brock Redmond).
