Redondo girls basketball standout Kyra Hamlin heads a list of South Bay athletes who were recently named to the Winter 2015-16 All-CIF teams in their respective sports.

Hamlin, a senior forward, was an All-CIF selection for the second consecutive year after leading the Sea Hawks to the Bay League championship and an appearance in the CIF-Southern Section Division 1AA semifinals where Redondo fell to West Torrance 47-42.

West, who was defeated by Ventura 47-25 in the championship game, was represented by senior Hayley Tanabe and sophomore Haley Jones on the Division 1AA team.

Mira Costa had two players — juniors Halle Maeda and Allie Navarette — named to the Division 1A squad after leading the Mustangs to the championship game.

Leuzinger junior Brooke Scott made the Division 3A team and El Segundo senior Paige Endo was selected to the Division 4AA team.

Boys Basketball

Redondo senior Leland Green represented the Sea Hawks on the All-CIF Open Division team while Bishop Montgomery juniors Jordan Schakel and Ethan Thompson were selected after leading the Knights to the Open Division semifinals .

Lawndale senior Erick Willis made the Division 2A squad while Serra sophomore Kobe Smith was named Co-Player of the Year in Division 4AA and was joined by teammate junior Ray Knight on the All-CIF team.

 

Girls Soccer

After winning the CIF-SS Division 2 title, Palos Verdes can boast of having the division’s Player of the Year in senior defender Natasa Eleftheriou and Coach of the Year in Sean Lockhart. Senior goalkeeper Brook Littman was also honored as a member of the All-CIF Division 2 team helping the Sea Kings reach the Southern California Regional championship game.

Redondo was represented by junior forward Ashley Humphrey.

In Division 3, North Torrance junior midfielder Allison Farr and West Torrance junior forward Kimmy Butland were All-CIF selections.

Vistamar sophomore midfielder Luisa Delgado-Heinz was named to the Division 7 team.

Boys Soccer

Palos Verdes senior midfielder Masaki Kishimoto and senior defender Riley Petit were selected to the All-CIF Division 1 team. Joining them was Peninsula senior midfielder Kyle Adams.

In Division 4, South Torrance senior midfielder John Strauch, senior defender Robbie Roosen, junior forward Will Hayward and junior defender David Paine were honored after leading the Spartans to the championship game.

El Segundo senior midfielder Grant Bemis also was named to the Division 4 team.

 

Girls Water Polo

Mira Costa senior Kaylee Brownsberger and junior Aminadi Anorve were selected to the All-CIF Division 3 team after leading the Mustangs to the semifinals.

Peninsula  junior Kiersten Hazard also made the Division 3 squad.
