Costa, Redondo girls swim to victory in water polo playoffs

Photo Two of the three Bay League representatives advanced to the quarterfinals of the CIF-Southern Section Division 3 playoffs to be held Saturday. Third-seeded Mira Costa (18-13) held off visiting Righetti 6-4 and will host La Serna (17-13) at 11 a.m. on Saturday. The winner advances and will take on the victor of the game between second-seeded ML King and Harvard-Westlake in the semifinals next Wednesday. Harvard-Westlake eliminated Peninsula with a 7-6 home victory on Wednesday. Redondo (19-8) jumped out to an early 4-1 lead before pulling away with a 12-4 win over visiting Notre Dame/Sherman Oaks.
