Assault and cell phone theft at Clark Stadium

A man was assaulted and robbed of his cell phone Saturday at 2:30 a.m. while walking through Clark Stadium, police said. The man was approached by three other men who engaged him in a short conversation, but when he attempted to leave the three suspects verbally threatened him and hit him, Det. Mick Gaglia said in a press release.

When the victim dropped his cell phone, one of the suspects recovered it offered to sell it back to the victim, police said. When the victim said he didn’t have any money, the three suspects fled the area, police said.

The victim went home and contacted HBPD several hours later, police said.

Safe Theft

Unknown suspects entered the upstairs office of the Mediterraneo restaurant in the 1 block of Pier Plaza Oct. 7 and stole cash from inside a wall safe totaling more than $950, police said.

Assaults

Police responded to three calls for assaults, including a fight involving multiple in the 1 block of 11th Street Oct. 7 at 1:30 a.m., a victim who was punched in the face several times in the 900 block of Manhattan Ave at 1:30 a.m., and in the 800 block of Valley Drive Oct. 13 at 2:30 a.m. after a man was punched in the head and had his cell phone stolen by multiple suspects, police said.

Fight on Upper Pier

There was a large fight involving multiple subjects inside of 705 Pier Ave. and outside the establishment at about 1: 30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 13, police said. No one wanted to prosecute for battery, police said.
