Local Hermosa Beach youth spent Sunday, April 14 planting succulents and at the Hermosa Beach Police Department for the Kiwanis Club’s “Kiwanis One Day” program. Youth organizations across the country spent the day carrying out projects to improve their community’s world-wide.
The groups, the El Camino Circle K Club, Redondo Union High School Key Club, Hermosa Valley and Parras Middle School Builders club spent the entire morning beautifying the station.
“It’s an effective way to instill community service in our youth to bring about an involved citizenry,” Hermosa Beach Kiwanis Club President Jeff Maxwell said in a release. “I love to see the kids’ transformation when they leave their individual worlds to come together for the community.”
