Caltrans is working on the curb, gutter, and sidewalk at the intersection of Highway 1, or Pacific Coast Highway (PCH), and Palos Verdes Boulevard today through March 29, according to its website.
Drivers should expect delays and the closure of one lane on PCH.
City Manager Bill Workman issued notice of the work at Tuesday’s City Council meeting, noting the California Department of Transportation would be turning off signals at the intersection over the next week.
“We’ve been out there and very assertive [with Caltrans], saying ‘You better have somebody out there directing traffic because putting some little stop sign out there ain’t gonna work,” Workman said.
Road work will start at 9:01 a.m. and conclude at 2:59 p.m. each day. Signage has been posted in the lead-up to this week.
