We assume Paul Hennessey scouts the locations for his restaurants himself, and from this deduce that the guy has a fine appreciation for lively street environments.
How else to explain that all the Beach Cities Hennessey’s have such excellent outdoor dining, with views of the most interesting parts of the places where our cities meet the sea? Granted, you can’t actually see the water from the Redondo location, but it’s only two blocks away and the comings and goings of swimsuit-clad bathers add to the scenery in summer. The outdoor fireplace at the Manhattan Beach location adds to the coziness there, while the Hermosa rooftop offers unmatched view of sea and sand. You can’t eat the ocean view, but you can enjoy it while you tuck in to well-executed burgers and bar food. Dining with a view is one of the joys of nightlife here, and Hennessey’s has the best spots nailed down.
