Grand Salon
The 2012 Grand Salon, presented by the Peninsula Committee Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra, was held in a beautiful coastal setting on the evening of Sunday, April 29. A sell-out success, it continued the long tradition of notable events designed by the Peninsula Committee to benefit youth music in the South Bay Schools and the Los Angeles Philharmonic. A colorful silent auction featuring private social events, unique experiences, art and jewelry provided strong enticement for bidders. Guests enjoyed gourmet tastings from favorite South Bay restaurants: Cego’s and Mama Terrano from Rolling Hills Estates, Il Toscano, Whole Foods Market and Baby Cakes Baking Company from Torrance and Ortega 120 and Hostaria Piave from Redondo Beach. The Winemakers of Asti Winery provided fine wines. AMUSE Music Center was the principal underwriter of the 2012 Grand Salon. A superb, virtuoso musical performance was performed by Carolyn Hove, solo English horn player for the LA Philharmonic and noted recitalist. She was accompanied by collaborative pianist, Vicki Ray.
