Disappearing vehicle

According to Manhattan Beach Police Department reports, a resident reported his car was locked and parked in his driveway on the 2400 block of Palm Avenue on the night of Sept. 5. When he returned, it was missing.

Upon going to the police department to make a report, the owner noticed that it had been relocated around the corner with scratches and no signs of forced entry. Nothing was missing from the vehicle, but the owner found a marijuana cigarette on the dash board with a lighter.      

Smashed front door

Unknown suspect(s) smashed the front door of a home on the 1200 block of The Strand between Sept. 4 and 9, according to police reports. No entry was made.

Stroller theft

According to MBPD reports, unknown suspect(s) stole two strollers off the porch of a residence on the 500 block of 1st Street between noon and 3 p.m. on Aug. 3.

Arrest

Officers responded to a call of a suspicious vehicle on the 2300 block of Ocean at 2:30 a.m. on Sept. 11. When the officers attempted to stop the vehicle, the car stopped and the passenger fled on foot. Items suspected to be stolen from a construction site were found in the trunk of the vehicle; both the driver and passenger were arrested.   

Commercial burglary
A business on the 3700 block of Highland Avenue was broken into and ransacked on the night of Sept. 10, according to police reports. Miscellaneous items were reported stolen.

Burglary in progress
Officers responded to a report of a vehicle burglary in progress at 4 a.m. on Sept. 11, but were unable to find the suspect. Several items were taken from the locked vehicle on the 100 block of 38th Street. There was no sign of forced entry.

Stolen package

According to police reports, a package was stolen from the front porch of a residence on the 3800 block of The Strand between Sept. 5 and 6.

Bike thefts

On Sept. 11 between 6:30 and 7:30 a.m., a bike which had been locked to a bike rack in the Manhattan Beach Pier northern parking lot was reported stolen. The victim found his cut lock on the ground.

On Aug. 3 at 2 p.m., a bicycle left unlocked on the front porch of a building on the 300 block of 2nd Street was reported stolen.

Vehicle tampering
Unknown suspect(s) removed a hubcap, lug nuts and a tire from a vehicle on the 2600 block of The Strand between Sept. 11 and 14.  Police said the tire was left behind and leaning on the car. ER
