My Favorite Thing Week #9: Cheesecake at Paisano’s Pizza. Now made in-house! Light and fluffy, yet super rich. Wow. Truly remarkable. Makes you want a cloth napkin.

Bartender of the Week: Mikey Jerome at Hennessey’s Tavern, HB. This very personable east coast guy is known for his positive spirit.  Always greets customers with a “How ya doin’? You in love?” He’ll mix up whatever you like to drink.  Just name the alcohol, indicate whether or not you like it sweet, and he’ll surprise you with the rest. Outside the bar, he is a working actor with gigs such as One Life to Live. Usually found working at the “pier” bar. Ask him about the Mikey Chronicles or why he goes by the name Mikey. He feels being friendly and engaging is the most important quality in a great bartender. With Mikey around, you can come alone and leave with 3 new friends. I did.
