The Palos Verdes Conservancy 2016 White Point Home Tour on Sunday, September 11 presents the first ever opportunity for the public to visit the mid-century, oceanfront estate designed by Aaron Green, a student of Frank Lloyd Wright. The home is a popular location for video and photo shoots. The five-home tour begins at 12:30 and will be followed by a reception at the Brouwerij West tasting room in San Pedro at 4:30 p.m. $65. SEAsonal volunteers

The Cabrillo Marine Aquarium is seeking volunteer tour guides to teach school children about the wonders of Southern California’s marine life. The only prerequisites are a desire to learn about the ocean, and an interest in sharing that information with children. Applications for the Fall 2016 Tour Guide Training Class are due Tuesday September 3. Class begins Monday, September 19. Training takes place every Monday morning for 12 weeks, ending December 12. Fleet Week

LA Fleet Week is a free, public event at America’s #1 Port, featuring guided ship tours, military demonstrations and an air show. Ongoing until September 5. Labor day concert

The Palos Verdes Symphonic Band’s annual Labor Day concert is titled “Mariachi on the Meadow.” 5 p.m.  at the South Coast Botanic Garden, 26300 Crenshaw Blvd, Palos Verdes Peninsula. Beer and wine will be sold. Purchase Tickets in the Botanic Garden courtyard just prior to concert time. Bring a  blanket or beach chair and a picnic supper and non-alcoholic drinks if you wish.
