Photo Following is a list of every restaurant in the Beach Cities that I can verify opened between 2001 and the end of 2010. A few types of restaurants are not included, such as chain fast food restaurants, food counters inside grocery stores, and other places whose prime purpose was not to serve food. In some cases it was difficult to confirm opening and closing dates, and I may have missed some changes. Please send me corrections or additions to my email at the end of this article. The statistic that most people ask about is which space in the Beach Cities has been host to the most restaurants. At least three locations have hosted at five restaurants over the past decade, but the winner is 1019 Manhattan Beach Boulevard, which was Manhattan Bar & Grill in 2000, and was successively Soleil, Blue Agave, Chicago For Ribs, and Tapa Meze before becoming Kah, which seems to be doing well.
