A collision between a motorcycle and a car backed up traffic on Pacific Coast Highway for blocks this morning. The incident occurred around 9:20 a.m. near the intersection of Herondo Street and Pacific Coast Highway.

According to Redondo Beach Police Department Lt. Joe Hoffman, at least one person, a passenger on the motorcycle was hurt in the collision. An injured person appeared to be loaded up by ambulance personnel to be taken to a nearby medical facility.

Traffic was snarled in all directions at the intersection as a Redondo Beach Fire Department ladder truck blocked traffic to protect medical crews and the drivers of the vehicles.

There is no word yet on the severity of the injuries to those involved.
