Wilderness filmmaker talk
The Sierra Club presents filmmaker/explorer Robert Caplan, who will show “In Wilderness,” a program of films about human experience in distant settings. “Twosome” takes us to remote canyons and wild coasts in pursuit of a mystery about two North American explorers, a man and woman, and the man who photographed them. “Watershed” pays homage to one of our most threatened molecules, H20. Its production is based on a rare collaboration among a choreographer, a musical composer, dancers, a conservationist, and a wilderness photographer. These films will be followed by a Q&A session with the producer/photographer/explorer Robert Caplan. 7 – 9p.m. Palos Verdes Library, Community Room, 701 Silver Spur Road, Rolling Hills Estates(across from Deep Valley Drive). Dog training for good citizenship
The Redondo Beach Department of Parks and Recreation offers dog obedience class at Dominguez Park. 9 to 10 a.m. Classes are free to active duty or reserve military personnel, and military veterans who would like to train their dog for use as a personal service or therapy dog.
