The Green Team Clothing Swap MCHS Mira Costa High School Clothing Swap hosted by The Green Team. Grades of Green inspires and empowers the students at MCHS to care for the environment by providing MCHS with: Eco-consultation of the school;  Assembly to educate students about the importance of conserving natural resources, reducing litter and landfill waste, preventing pollution, and the 3 R's (reduce, reuse and recycle);  Implementation of a lunch time sorting system which will give students the opportunity to sort their waste into specific bins including: recycling, bottles and cans, landfill and liquids;  Waste audit to assess how well students recycle before and after the implementation of the lunch time sorting system;  Encouragement to keep the campus litter-free.

Home in Hermosa exhibit at HB Museum

In 1977, former Hermosa Beach Mayor and founding member of the Hermosa Beach Museum Pat Gazin became critically aware of the disappearing historic homes in Hermosa, and set out to record their existence for her first book. In 2023 after the designation of the first historic residential home in Hermosa Beach, the Hermosa Beach Museum Staff & Volunteers took a look at this book to see how many houses remained in existence to share a new and updated edition of the remaining Castles on the Sand, and those which are now ghosts. 710 Pier Ave. Museum hours: Wed-Sun 12 – 4 p.m. Information: Hermosabeachhistoricalsociety.org
