It has, in years past, been difficult for Republicans to rouse more than a single candidate to run for what has amounted to the biannual political slaughter otherwise known as running against Democratic Congresswoman Jane Harman. But this year, three candidates are vying in the GOP primary: Peter Kesterson, Mattie Fine, and Andrew Sharp.
An off-duty Los Angeles County Deputy Sheriff was arrested last Monday for assault with a deadly weapon after he allegedly fired a handgun while engaged in a dispute with his girlfriend on the Redondo Beach pier. A crowd of fishermen helped subdue the man.
