50th International Surf Festival begins

Thousands of athletes and spectators will converge on South Bay beaches this weekend for the 50th International Surf Festival. The golden anniversary celebration begins Friday with Lifeguard competitions starting at 7 p.m. at the Hermosa Beach Pier.
