“The best rockumentary I’ve ever seen,” is how Pennywise’s Fletcher Dragge described “FILMAGE: The Story of Descendents/ALL.” The documetary about the seminal South Bay punk band is being presented by
M1SK (Made In Southern Kalifornia) and Gold Country Productions on Friday, November 7 at the Hermosa Beach Community Center.
Governor Jerry Brown urged independents to return Assemblyman Al Muratsuchi to Sacramento because “Republican’s see more clearly when they are in the minority.” The governor visited the South Bay on Tuesday to urge support for fellow Democratic Party candidates.
The South Bay Surf League started the 2014-2015 season Saturday with the Kick-Off Classic Contest, featuring nine local high schools’ top surfers, three to five foot breakers, and the beach at 26th Street in Manhattan Beach clustered with canopies and banners festooned with school colors and insignias.
The South Bay was hit with its first real swell of the 2014-2015 season on Wednesday, October 22nd. There are not sandbars yet so most of the waves were walled and closed out. Fingers crossed that enough sand moved for the next swell. Surfers include: Greg Browning, Dane Zaun,Will Reid, Chris Wells, Noah Collins, Rich Silva, Andy Prunauer and others.
