The Manhattan Beach library is closing for construction to make way for a state-of-the-art, two-storied glass building in its place, anticipated to be unveiled in the spring of 2015.
Beginning Saturday, library services will continue through the Manhattan Beach Express Library, to be stationed in the Manhattan Beach construction site parking lot at 1320 Highland Avenue in Manhattan Beach.
Hours of operation will be Tuesday to Friday from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. It will be closed on Sundays and Mondays.
At the Express Library, visitors may sign up for a library card, place and pick up holds on books and materials, return library materials and browse from a small collection.
Children’s programming will be provided year-round by the children’s services librarian Melissa Messner. Toddler and preschool story times will take place in the Police/Fire Conference Room as well as this year’s Summer Reading Program. Specific information about dates and times are available on the County of Los Angeles Public Library website.
