Splintered Heart – For the last two years, women’s clothing boutique Splintered Heart in Hermosa Beach has said it offers the hottest styles in clothing, accessories and unique gifts at reasonable prices. And this year, our readers agree. Located on Aviation Boulevard, the alternative clothing, accessories and gift retailer says that it’s able to offer more affordable prices than downtown boutiques that pay higher rents to be near the pier.

Styles range from cozy, soft hoodies and denim jeans to camo tops and dark gothic-inspired looks to frilly skirts to tie-dyed summer dresses. The store carries an assortment of accessories that includes oversized rings, rhinestone buckles, Swarovski crystal-studded belts and cuffs. Don’t be surprised if a peace sign, skull, flower or, of course, heart pops up here or there.
“Keeping the romantic side of the store alive with art from all over the world,” Splintered Heart carries jewelry, handbags, metal art, magnets, crosses and more, all handmade by local artists. Swarovski Crystal Dog Collars are also available, as well as Holistic Health Extension, a soy-based, gluten-free pet food.
