This Saturday and Sunday, May 21 and 22, Be The Match Bone Marrow Swab Testing is hoping to get 500 South Bay people between 18 to 60 to have their cheeks swabbed to be placed in a world-wide database (Be The Match). Tissue testing is done and when a match is made, the doctors and organization contact donor and discuss if the need is bone marrow from the hip or blood for the life saving process.
Saturday 10 am to 5 p.m. and Sunday noon to 5 p.m. at Christ Church Parish Hall, 408 South Broadway, Redondo Beach.
